# Tamil Data Foundation > Tamil Data (tamildata.org) is a community-driven project that decentralizes the digital assets of Tamil — the world's oldest living classical language — using blockchain and IPFS. Contributors digitize, translate, verify, and curate Tamil texts, audio, and cultural records; each contribution is pinned to IPFS for permanent, censorship-resistant access and recorded on-chain so the contributor can be rewarded. The Foundation also runs a research fund for Tamil scholarship.
